A dynamic stochastic methodology for quantifying HAZMAT storage resilience

چکیده

A disruption to hazardous (flammable, explosive, and toxic) material (HAZMAT) storage plants may trigger escalation effects, resulting in more severe performance losses making the restoration difficult. The disruption, such as an intentional attack, be difficult predict prevent, thus developing a resilient HAZMAT plant practical effective way deal with these disruptions. This study develops dynamic stochastic methodology quantify resilience of plants. In this methodology, evolution scenarios are modeled process that consists four stages: escalation, adaption, stages. resistant capability stage, mitigation adaption stage quantified obtain resilience. uncertainties considered, Monte Carlo method is used simulate possible case illustrate developed discussion based on provided find out critical parameters measures.

A Generalizable Methodology for Quantifying User Satisfaction

Quantifying user satisfaction is essential, because the results can help service providers deliver better services. In this work, we propose a generalizable methodology, based on survival analysis, to quantify user satisfaction in terms of session times, i.e., the length of time users stay with an application. Unlike subjective human surveys, our methodology is based solely on passive measureme...

Stochastic source term estimation of HAZMAT releases: algorithms and uncertainty

Source term estimation (STE) of hazardous material (HAZMAT) releases is critical for emergency response. Such problem is usually solved with the aid of atmospheric dispersion modelling and inversion algorithms accompanied with a variety of uncertainty, including uncertainty in atmospheric dispersion models, uncertainty in meteorological data, uncertainty in measurement process and uncertainty i...

A Stochastic Model of Fragmentation in Dynamic Storage Allocation

We study a model of dynamic storage allocation in which requests for single units of memory arrive in a Poisson stream at rate A and are accommodated by the first available location found in a linear scan of memory. Immediately after this first-fit assignment, an occupied location commences an exponential delay with rate parameter/z, after which the location again becomes available. The set of ...
